Psalms 81, 88, 92 - 93 (28th April) - James

Psalm 81

This psalm calls out to Israel to heed god’s voice and submit to Him. God very much wants to see His children walk in His ways and lead victorious lives, but they chose instead to walk in their own counsel. And there are those who pretend to submit to God, but the psalm says their “fate endures forever.” I believe God means that their lives will not change, for if they submitted, God would have ‘fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with the honey from the rock, I would have satisfied you.”

Psalm 88

The psalmist writes rather negative things here, mainly lamenting about his sad state of affairs he’s going through. And it seems that although he calls out to God daily, there seems to be no answer.

Psalms 92 - 93

“It is good to give thanks to the Lord.” Stop and reflect on the blessings in your life, and start to give thanks! It’s very convenient to get carried away with the ‘busi-ness’ of our respective lives that we do not forget to give thanks! Lets not be ungrateful people.

Vs 12-15 tells us when we are righteous, our testimony will reflect to others that we are flourishing, strong/unwavering and fruitful in our lives!

A reminder that our God is everlasting.
