Psalms 89, 96, 100, 101, 105, 132 (6th May) - Vivien

Psalm 89
v1 to v4: Glorifying God through speaking/declaring.

The characters of God:
1) Faithful – v5 to v8; v19 to 29
2) Mighty – v9 to v13
3) Righteous and just – v14 to 18
4) Holy – v30 – v37

v38 to v45: the disappointment of man’s respond
v46 to v52: man’s desperate pleading for God

Psalm 96
God loves hear our voices. What are the instructions that the psalmist had given? Sing, Proclaim, Declare and Say.
It is a time of rejoicing as we declare how great our God is.

Psalm 100
This is a psalm of thanksgiving. Give thanks for the fact that our God is good and His love endures forever. His faithfulness continues through all generations. (v5)

Psalm 101
This is Christian living 101. How should we live our lives? Worship Him with praise and songs; be careful to lead a blameless life; do nothing with evil; do not endure/compromise to what is wrong in the eyes of God.

Psalm 105
Retelling the past to remember what God has done. When we are disheartened or even doubt God, recall the wonders that God has done for you, so that you may increase in faith and be fired up for God again. Don’t allow the unhealthy thoughts remain in you for too long.

Psalm 132
God is not a forgetful god, He remembers (v1) Obey God’s law so that He can bless. And when He blesses us, we should bless others. Then God will bless us even more, in order that we can bless others. Be a blessing.

This reminded me of the attitude for this year: Always giving thanks, always victorious in Christ and always be a blessing.
