Ezra 4-6 , Psalm 137 (19th September) - Quanwei

In these chapters, we read about the opposition & discouragement that people of Judah & Jerusalem faced in rebuilding the temple for God. The Jews really had a hard time to rebuild the temple & were facing the threats of man to stop doing the work of God. But the eyes of the Lord were always upon the Jews & thus they were able to carry on doing the works of God. And when the Lord’s favour was really upon His people, everything that was needed to built His temple or the needs of the people building are all provided for! And when finally it was built, the Israelites had a time of celebration with everyone else.

In fact, all it took was God changing the attitude of the King of Assyria in order for God’s work to be completed. And also when the His people chose to be clean & pure before the Lord, they finally saw the goodness of God in their lives.

In our lives, sometimes we’re also like the people of Judah & Jerusalem facing opposition or obstacles in doing God’s work or things we have set out to do. But when we chose to fixed our eyes on God & believe in the works that we’re doing for Him, He will make it happen in His timing regardless how long or short the timing is. But most of all, it’s when we choose to live a life that God wants us to live, He will bless us surely!
